Mud in Your Eye Spirulina Smoothie

by Deg Klektau
(Victoria, BC, Canada)

Mud in Your Eye Spirulina Smoothie

2 cups strawberries (fresh is best but frozen works too)
½ cup blueberries (frozen or fresh)
1 frozen banana
1 whole large orange peeled and separated into segments
2 medium sized kiwis, peeled
1 cup fresh baby spinach leaves
1 heaping teaspoon spirulina
1 cup unsweetened almond milk

Method:

Pour the almond milk into blender
Add the spinach, banana and orange segments
Add the spirulina
Add the strawberries, blueberries and kiwi

Pulse the blender a few times to get the blending action started, then blend on puree to get a smooth consistency. If the smoothie is too thick for your liking, add some water or more almond milk.

When you see the final color of this smoothie, you will understand why I chose the name. This smoothie combination has no spirulina aftertaste whatsoever. You could even double the spirulina and still make it very palatable.
Serves up to 4
