Orange Smoothie Recipe for a Morning Boost!

An orange smoothie recipe is a great way to start your day! You receive a bountiful supply of orange nutrition that will super charge your body. When making fruit smoothie recipes, I always recommend using the whole fruit vs. the juice of the fruit. The closer to the original version plucked from the tree the better.

For an example... When you go buy a brand new car with your hard earned money, you are expecting it to have many great features: stereo, leather seating, cup holders, a sunroof, and even perhaps that cool rear view parking camera!

How does a car relate to an orange smoothie? Just hang in there with me. You’ll see.

Say you sign off on the dotted line and the car dealer brings your new car to the door. But the car that they bring is not the one you just agreed to buy.

This car had a big ding on the front bumper, 145k miles, cigarette burn marks on the upholstery, duck tape securing the rear view mirror, and it didn’t have that sun roof that you dreamed about.

What do you do? Go back in and demand for the car that you paid for? Of course!

So, how does this relate to smoothies?

Well, when you use juice bought from the store, you are being cheated out of your money and nutrients! By the time juice travels into your fridge it has been extracted, heated, concentrated, reconstituted, fortified (because its nutrients were depleted from the processing), and many preservatives added.

Why don’t we make a fuss about this cheap version of the real thing, the orange? Convenience? Well, a convenient way to get all of the great benefits of oranges is by adding whole oranges to your orange smoothies.

Another way to get even more nutrients from an orange is to shave the orange peeling off and leaving most of the white pith on the orange. Cut the orange in half and take all of the seeds out. Then toss the fruit into the blender for a great tasting smoothie!

So have fun... Show off your own favorite orange smoothies!
