Easy Vegan Recipes Chocolate Smoothies

You can use raw nuts to create delicious, easy vegan recipes, like a chocolate smoothie. You have such an array of different flavors of nuts. Choose from a mild flavor of cashew or macadamia to a more intense flavor like hazelnut or brazil nut.

My favorite nuts to use in smoothies are cashews, almonds, pecans, and hazelnuts. The most nutrient dense nut is the brazil nut. You only need 2-4 brazil nuts accompanying other nuts to get their nutritious benefits, such as selenium.

According to many raw foodists, the only type of nuts that should be soaked before using is almonds. They say that soaking the almonds neutralize the enzyme inhibitors to make the nutrients easier to digest. Also, it will soften the almonds for an easier blending experience. YUM!

Best Ways to Buy Nuts

Nut Smoothie

When you are shopping for nuts always buy raw! It isn’t necessary to purchase them organic. If you can afford organic go for it!

The best way to buy nuts is through bulk suppliers. I usually get my favorite nuts at least in a 5 pound bag. Then I refrigerate or freeze the excess that will not be used within 1-2 months.

Isn’t Nuts High in Fat?

They are high in fat. But remember... With these easy vegan recipes, you are replacing those even higher calorie and sugar filled shakes and malts.

As an added plus, a vegan chocolate smoothie contains fiber, vitamins, and minerals from the fruit and nuts. If you look at a chocolate shake, there isn’t anything to brag about. Just a bunch of sugar and empty calories.

You don’t need to settle with the sugar side effects and extra calories! Make your own easy vegan recipes with raw nuts and natural sweeteners. You can even add superfoods to give you a little boost of energy!

Best Way to Blend Nuts

If you have a lower grade blender, you can blend the nuts up into a fine powder before adding the frozen ingredients. Some people have found that blending the ingredients with half of the water, then adding the rest of the water with the ice really helps create a deliciously smooth chocolate shake.

I have a high quality blender that can blend pretty much anything. I wish that I could demonstrate the power of this blender by making one of these easy vegan recipes for you. Blendtec is the best blender!

Please don’t let whatever type of blender that is in your kitchen determine if you are going to try these easy vegan recipes. It can be done!
