Ginger Green Smoothie - Packed with Antioxidants from Green Tea

by Jim Ericksen

Jim has a tasty ginger green smoothie that is packed with antioxidants from the Green Tea. Using tea as the liquid of the smoothie can be a good way to add flavor and nutrients.

Ginger Green Smoothie
16 oz of fresh brewed green tea cooled down*
1-inch of ginger root peeled
1/8 cup of organic coconut milk
1/8 cup of pumpkin seeds
4 hand full of greens - I like black kale the best.
1 large apple - only the stem removed.
1 bosc pear
one banana

I blend all of the ingredients in this mixture well.

I can feel its effects right after I drink it. I like to drink about 70 oz a day, if I can.

*DaNae's Note: I do like green tea. There are many health benefits of green tea. Since green tea contains some caffeine, I generally stick with herbal teas in my smoothies. I like rooibos red tea, chaga mushroom tea, red raspberry leaf tea, etc.
