Gluten Free Toffee Latte Smoothie

by S. Arrington

I would like to make the Toffee Latte Smoothie for a 12 years old girl. She's always asking me if she can get a Latte. I saw your recipe and thought this would be a great way for her to try a Latte and still work on her digestive tract.

Do you have a naturally caffeine free, gluten free product like Cafix would could use?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm sure it is hard to find tasty foods that are good alternatives that do not contain gluten. A good coffee substitute that is gluten free is hard to find.

I did do some research and found a promising caffeine-free and gluten-free instant coffee substitute. It is called Dandy Blend. I found it at a good price at iHerb.com. You should be able to use it in the same quantities as the Cafix.

The product information says that all of the gluten in the "barley and rye is eliminated in the extraction process."

Gluten Free Toffee Latte Smoothie

2 cups of coconut milk*
4 dates, pits removed
1-2 droppers English Toffee Liquid Stevia
2-4 teaspoons Dandy Blend
1 teaspoon psyllium husk powder**
3 cups ice

Add the coconut milk and the dates into the blender. Blend until the dates are creamy smooth. Then add the rest of the smoothie ingredients and blend again. Enjoy!
Makes 2 - 16oz servings

*You can choose how creamy the latte will be by using a fattier coconut milk. Otherwise... if you are limiting your calorie intake, try using the So Delicious brand of coconut milk. Also, if you want a different milk option... try almond milk.

**Psyllium husk powder is not only added to thicken up the smoothie but to also add extra fiber and bulk. This will help satisfy your appetite longer and regulate your digestive system.

I hope this helps you out!

Happy Blending!
