I'm still hungry after drinking a green smoothie.

by Jul

Hi DaNae

I have been drinking green smoothies for a few days. I have noticed that I am still starving after drinking them. Plus, I started to have a bitter taste in my mouth all the time. Could you please help me to understand what is happening?

Thanks!

Jul,

I'm glad that you started drinking green smoothies. I sure hope that we can figure out how to solve your problem so that you can continue to enjoy your green smoothies.

Regarding your hunger... How much smoothie are you drinking? Are you replacing a meal with the smoothie?

I know for myself, I need to drink at least 3-4 cups of green smoothie to be satisfied until the next meal.

Another way to help fill you up is to add protein and fiber, like hemp seeds. Almonds could be a good option as well.

Now, I'm not a doctor, so I cannot diagnose the bitter flavor in your mouth nor can I prescribe anything. Some people have this issue from the side-effects of certain drugs.

I'm not on any prescription drugs, so if I was in your position, I would consider the option that my body was detoxing from the green smoothies. Interesting enough... many people have found that the bitter taste in their mouth goes away after drinking green smoothies for a time.

If the bitter taste continues, I would suggest that you see your health care provider that knows your health history.

I hope that you start feeling better with green smoothies.

Happy Blending!

I have been concerned with the same thing about being hungry.
I made a list of things I would add to my smoothie that I think will be more filling, add protein and other things.

Hemp protein powder- bobs red mill sold in supermarkets
Grind half to 1 cup of uncooked oats
Mix two tablespoon of whey protein powder
1 Tbsp. ground flax seed- also bob red mill I have bought before and milled in my coffee grinder
1 teaspoon psyllium husk powder - I just read that people add this, and Dr Oz family member recepie

so.. not all together.. but combo of some.. will make it more filling.
well just start your research on these.
