I am so excited to find your site!! I heard that cacao bean are a "superfood" I like munching on them, but can you use them in your smoothies?

Thanks!

Jen,

You most certainly can use cacao beans in your smoothies. I usually like to buy cacao beans in a powder so that I don't have a "grainy" smoothie. But you can grind your beans in a grinder prior to adding it to your smoothies. Most of my chocolate smoothie recipes I used raw cacao powder. To me it tastes the same as any chocolate shake. :)

I like to buy Navitas Naturals Cacaco powder.

A tasty healthy chocolate substitute is carob powder. It isn't exactly like cacao. But it is naturally sweet. That way you don't have to add a bunch of extra sweetness. In turn, you save yourself from added calories.

I hope this helps you out!

Happy Blending!
