Cynthia and I will be covering why hemp seeds is a perfect protein supplement for your smoothie recipes for weight loss.

First, I would like to say how grateful I am to interview you, Cynthia!

What are the health benefits of hemp seeds?

Cynthia: Hemp seeds have been called the "perfect food" by numerous researchers and medical doctors. The hemp seed is 35 percent oil and is the richest source of essential fatty acids in the plant kingdom containing omega-6, omega-3, and omega-9. It is also an amazing source of protein! It's approximately 25 percent protein and contains all 10 essential amino acids. In addition, the protein is readily digestible and 100% bioavailable, meaning your body actually uses 100% of the protein content.

Finally, hemp seeds are packed full of both soluble and insoluble fiber. Just one serving of the Organic Protein +Fiber and Organic Protein +Detox contains over 50% of your daily recommended intake!

Hemp seeds have been shown to help regulate blood sugar, lower cholesterol, and aid in weight loss.

Hemp seeds are wonderful for smoothies because they don't contain allergens like soy and dairy products. They're also much more easily digested and won't leave you feeling bloated or suffering from indigestion problems.

Why choose hemp seeds over flax and chia seeds? What is the difference?

Cynthia: Great question! Let's take a close look at each of these seeds so we can examine the differences.

First up, flax seeds! Hemp seeds are much more easily digested than flax seeds. Whole flax seeds actually pass through your body without being digested at all. In addition, Hemp seeds contain a perfect ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 while flax seed doesn't and it provides higher-potency omega derivatives, GLA and SDA, which flax seeds lack.

Chia seeds are very nutritious and always a great supplement to your diet. They differ from hemp in that they do not have the most perfect ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 and they are not as high in fiber.

Of the 3 million plus edible plants that grow on our planet, no other single plant can compare with the nutritional value of hemp seeds. It is the most nutritionally complete food source in the world.

Why does hemp seeds help people lose weight?

Cynthia: The extremely high fiber content of hemp seeds makes it ideal for losing weight. The blend of soluble and insoluble fiber works together to help regulate digestion, curb your appetite, and keep you feeling full for a longer period of time. Fiber can even absorb calories and flush them out of your body so your body doesn't store them as fat! Also keep in mind that hemp seeds also provide all the health benefits mentioned above so you're losing weight in a healthy way.

How much hemp protein powder is needed in a 16 oz smoothie for weight loss benefits?

Cynthia: I would recommend 4 Tbsp of hemp protein powder in a 16oz smoothie for best weight loss results. This will nourish your body with essential vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats and you won't be hungry for hours!

What are some other smoothie ingredients that may help someone to lose weight?

Cynthia: Other ingredients to toss into your smoothie for weight loss include green leafy veggies. They're packed full of chlorophyll which is very cleansing to the body and contain live enzymes to aid in digestion.

If you're enjoying your smoothie first thing in the morning, toss in some berries. Berries are very cleansing to your system and will help flush out toxins and bring your body back into balance. Plus, they're rich in fiber and antioxidants!

Just remember that fruit will ferment in your stomach and cause digestion problems so make sure you enjoy a fruit based smoothie first thing in the morning or at least 3 hours after your last meal.

What is your favorite hemp protein smoothie recipe?

Cynthia: My favorite smoothie recipe is called the Berry Clean Detox Shake! It's absolutely delicious and you don't have to be on a cleansing program to enjoy it. I drink these all year round! They're definitely my secret to staying lean, healthy, and full of energy despite my super busy lifestyle!
