Most certainly! You can blend up one of my chocolate smoothie recipes. They do contain fat and calories... Most, if not all, of them are created with whole foods, packed with fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Unlike a chocolate bar, these chocolate smoothies can satisfy your need for more sweets.
Can you lose weight without exercising? Yes... but the weight loss will be slower. Plus, you will not get as toned as you may want. Exercise also improves many functions of the body, especially your heart and lungs. Many exercise coaches recommend for someone who wants to lose weight to do a combination of aerobic exercise and weight lifting throughout the week.
I have changed my thoughts on exercise this past year while losing over 80 pounds. I will be writing more about my thoughts on exercise. But for now... I will say that exercising for 20 minutes every single day is better than setting big aspirations for a few weeks and then quitting.
I choose mostly walking and biking. Some days I don't feel like it. But my goal is to do something for only 20 minutes. I play an audio book, show, or podcast... the time flies by. Usually, I will start walking/biking with the intent to go for 20 minutes but do 30-40 minutes instead. If I'm limited on time, I only do 20 minutes.
Make sure to not look at exercise as a chore. Change your attitude to look forward to the small improvements to your body. I'm not only referring to weight loss. Examples: Notice how you can walk up the stairs without stopping for a breath... or your change of mindset when a friend asks to go for a hike. You aren't avoiding certain activities.
In order to be physically fit, you really have to be consistent with your diet and exercise routine. Don't despair... I know that you can do it. Slow and steady wins the race!
