How much chopped kale equals a kale leaf?

by Terri

I found a bag of chopped kale at my grocery store. The recipe says to add 2 - 4 kale leaves. How big is a kale leaf? Can I say that 1 cup of chopped kale equals a kale leaf? Love your Advanced Berry Kale Smoothie. I put 2 cups of chopped kale in it. Tasted delicious! Thanks, Terri

Terri,

I think that you got your kale measurements right. One large kale leaf would be one loosely packed cup of chopped up kale. Some types of chopped kale would be able to pack in 2-3 leaves.

But it sounds like you have been experimenting, do the amounts that your taste buds like. That is the most important thing. Otherwise, you might not continue drinking green smoothies.

I hope this helps!

Happy Blending!
